This year, 2014, marks the 25th anniversary of OSC’s Summer Institute program for high school students. Since the Ohio Supercomputer Center grew from academic roots, it was only natural for the center’s founders to develop a program through which they could share with students the fascinating and empowering computational resources they’d assembled. It also was logical that they would create a pipeline to help educate and inspire future scientists and engineers.
This Saturday, more than 1,200 of the brightest Ohio middle and high school students will gather on the university campus to compete in the Ohio State Science Olympiad Tournament – one of my favorite days of the year!
The Ohio Technology Consortium (OH-TECH) delivers world-class technologies, information and expertise to benefit academic, government and industrial researchers and boost Ohio's economy. OH-TECH is comprised of three member organizations: the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) and the Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK).
