Judy M. Opalek, Ph.D., serves as the director of Academic Research Services at the OhioHealth Research & Innovation Institute in Columbus, Ohio. She previously served as the Research Specialist for the Trauma Program at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, a clinical researcher at The Ohio State University Medical Center and a research associate at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Mich.
Opalek has published work in multiple fields, including immunology, pulmonary medicine and trauma, and has experience as both a human clinical researcher as well as with multiple animal models and bench science. She received a doctorate in Experimental Patholobiology from The Ohio State University in 2004 and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Alma College in 1997. She also completed coursework in Biomedical Sciences at Wayne State University.
