Aravind Asthagiri, Ph.D., is an associate professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University and currently serves as chair of the OSC Statewide Users Group, a committee that provides the center’s director with program and policy advice.
His research delves into developing and applying multi-scale modeling methods to predict material properties from first-principles atomistic simulations. His primary areas of interest are in surface science and heterogeneous catalysis, including electrocatalysts and photocatalysts for sustainable energy generation and storage.
Asthagiri holds a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
