Big data used to catch fraudulent tax returns (CNBC) – As tax season gets under way, three states have contracted to use a big data analytics program to screen its tax returns for fraud. So far the system has proved highly successful.

Mich. tuition plan would pay it forward (USA Today) – A Michigan bill has proposed a pilot program that would provide tuition free education in exchange for a pledge that graduates pay back a fixed percentage of their income to the school.
